Forever
By Rabbi Pamela Frydman © 2010
As God shines upon us,
We scarcely see His reflection
In our eyes,
On our skin,
Or on the dew drops
Glistening in the morning light.
When love calls to us
From within the heart of God,
We scarcely feel Her breathing
In our organs
And sinews
And bones.
When fate calls to us
From within the mind of God,
We search everywhere
To find what was
Within us
All the time.
When death calls to us
From beyond the veil
That penetrates this life,
We look everywhere
For what was within us
All the time.
When love calls to us,
The veil and the mind become one.
The lover and beloved and love
Are all that was and is and will be
Forever.
